Peribit products renamed/new models after Juniper Networks acquisition
In July 2005 Juniper Networks announced the completion of the acquisition of Peribit Networks. As part of the Peribit integration into
Juniper Networks, the existing Peribit SM and SR product platforms have been rebranded to WX and WXC product platforms.
The Peribit SM and SR units in the field will continue to be fully supported by Juniper Networks. The EOL timeline for the units will
not begin until such time that the corresponding WX units reach EOL, at which time EOL and last order date information will be
announced for the appropriate SM, SR and WX products and the End of Life timeframe starts.
The original SM and SR units sent in for repairs will be replaced with the WX products. The WX units may not be identical to
systems originally purchased by Peribit customers. The WX units will be like or and upgrade to those SM and SR units sent if for
repair.
